I thought long and hard about what I wanted to say in this space, and drafted a bunch of bios that I felt were in line with what I saw in my colleagues’ profiles. Eventually, I ended up scrapping them all.

Because I could tell you about the specific therapeutic modalities I use, or the philosophies underpinning my style of practice, and I could rattle off a list of the agencies where I’ve worked, and share general information about the populations I’ve served. But ultimately I think what’s most important to convey here is the kind of person I am, and the kinds of connections I like to form with the people I am so privileged to work with.

Therapy, at its heart, is a relationship; a trust that forms between two people who are united in their efforts to uncover truths, explore meaning, and walk new paths together. I believe in our stories, and the power they hold over us. I believe in resilience, and our ability to overcome obstacles and heal. I believe that greif and gratitude can co-exist, and that honouring our struggles does not detract from our joy. I believe in our intuition, and the need for us to listen it. I believe in inclusion. I believe that trauma transforms us, but I also believe that love can do the same.

I am a Certified Canadian Counsellor (C.C.C.), with more than eight years of clinical experience in the field of therapeutic support. I hold a Masters degree in Counselling Psychology, am a member in good standing with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association, and receive ongoing education through the Canadian Perinatal Mental Health Training orginization (CMPHT), in addition to routine clinical supervision and skill development.
